Scrolling through Instagram recently, I was captivated by this brightly colored bowl by Australian artist Kate Lee Foley. The perfect stripes and geometric arrangement make the bowl have the feeling of a beach umbrella.
You can see in the photo below how Kate used the aid of a circle with precise divisions to create perfectly shaped and sized sections. She credits the Lucy Slicer for her perfectly created slices from the striped block you see being assembled below.
Kate says that bowls and vessels are her first love, and you can see an impressive array of them by scrolling through her Facebook or Instagram.

I love that...
Kate’s work is bright, colorful, and very precise. She uses classic polymer clay techniques, but brings a keen understanding of color to her work. In addition, her attention to detail and neat work shows how important those factors are when creating a gorgeous product.
